How it works
Same curiosity. Different takes. Better conversations.
1. You build a reading profile
Search Open Library by title, author or ISBN, type a book in by hand, or upload a reading list as a CSV file — including a Goodreads-style export. You never need a Goodreads account, and three well-chosen books are enough to start.
2. You describe how you read
Nine five-point scales, each with both endpoints labelled. There is no correct side. You can answer with the keyboard, the plus and minus buttons or a screen reader — dragging is never required.
3. We filter before we score
First the non-negotiables: connection intention, gender preferences, age range, distance, hard boundaries, blocks and safety restrictions. Nobody outside those filters is shown to you.
4. We look for five kinds of compatibility
Relationship and communication fit, shared literary world, reading-personality fit, productive differences, and wildcard potential. We store those categories for moderation review, but we never show you a number — only reasons in plain language.
5. You get one conversation worth having
Every match comes with a My Plot Twist: one interesting difference, and a question built only from what both of you chose to share. We never invent a book, rating or opinion you did not give us.
6. Messaging is mutual only
Nobody can message you until you have both expressed interest. Blocking, reporting and unmatching are one tap away on every profile and conversation.
